Daniel Nderi is a Strategy, Marketing and Trade policy expert. He has honed his skills both in the Private and Public Sector. He has more than 14 years of experience working as a Trade Policy analyst whose main role has included; Review of trade and trade related policies, Development of Annual Development plans, Research on Trade and Trade related issues, Training of Trainers on Trade, Entrepreneurship and Business, Awareness creation to SMEs and Trade Related Consumer Based Organizations and Development of sustainability linkages with the private sector.
He is well versed with Business Marketing and Product packaging having been involved in the development of the first Meru County Products profile, Meru County Markets and Business Profile as well as establishing the architecture for the framework of Meru Market Management Committee. He has consulted with various SACCOs and Financial institutions on strategic plan design and development, Product Development and Promotion. During his tour of duty in Meru County he was involved in developing the concept on holding the first Meru County Investment Conference where he shared the organizing Secretary duties. Dr. Nderi was involved in structuring the Strategic Plan for Department of Trade and Cooperatives-Meru County as well as the design and development of the Meru County Hospitality Guide. Presently Dr. Nderi is working with a team of Trade Policy Experts in setting up the Kenya Trade Remedies Agency which is envisaged to usher in trade remedies measures for protecting nascent industries. Dr. Nderi has authored and co-authored several journal articles on marketing, business strategy and entrepreneurship.
To keep abreast with the ever-dynamic changing information technology sector Dr. Nderi is pursuing a Google Data Analytic Certification.
A financial, leadership & governance expert with in-depth experience in commercial banking, risk management, leadership, strategy, governance, cooperative management and micro-finance spanning over 24 years gained in East Africa. He is a chartered banker and certified trainer. Dr. Mwangi has over 12 years training, teaching and consulting experience in finance, risk management, banking, microfinance, leadership, strategic and performance management gained with UMS, Alliance for Green Revolution of Africa, Metropol Corporation, Kenya Institute of Bankers, Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Co-operatives as well as Kenya School of Monetary Studies.
He has hands experience in business development, bank operational risk management, developing, reviewing and training in policies and procedures, implementing product policies and procedures at branch level and business leadership - hiring, training and coaching staff to deliver business results.
During his banking tenure, he was responsible for periodic review of policies and procedures at three local banks - I&M, Equity and Family Bank Ltd, introduced and implemented operational risk training at Equity Bank, and introduced agency banking at Family Bank.
Areas of professional strength include developing business strategy, performance management, development of operational policies & procedures, consulting and training in operational risk management policy and technical skills, and development of leadership training programs. He is a part time lecturer at Cooperative University of Kenya, Management University of Africa, Pan Africa Christian University, Sunderland University @ Intel College and Kenya Institute of Bankers. He is also a consultant at Kenya School of Monetary studies.
Weru holds PhD in Leadership & Management from Management University of Africa, Master of Arts in Leadership (Business & Entrepreneurship) from Pan Africa Christian University and BSc in Financial Services from the University of Manchester’s Institute of Science & Technology. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) of England, a TVET-CDACC, Certified Competency Based Curriculum Developer, Cooperative University Certified Online Trainer, and a member of the Professional Trainers Association of Kenya.
Joseph Ndirangu Wokabi is a business development, financial management and corporate governance consultant with over 17 years’ experience in business development specifically consulting on product development, product portfolio management, product design, product differentiation and marketing. He is also well versed with credit risk management focusing on interest risk, liquidity risk and operational risk within financial institutions.
He has worked with leading financial institutions in Kenya including Cooperative Bank. During his banking career, he has held various positions in Business Development, operations and customer service and was responsible for the development of various Business Development and customer acquisition programmes.
In conjunction with Credit Management they developed various risk management and products innovations resulting in balanced credit portfolio. As a Branch manager in Cooperative Bank-Kenya Joseph led in the implementation of McKinsey Organizational and Financial Reengineering program. He has played key roles in the business development strategy formulation and implementation, operational management and control, monitoring and review of organizational processes, formulation and review of financial and credit policy for the bank. As a consultant for the past three years, Joseph has been involved in the training and development of capacity building programs for various Savings and credit cooperative societies, formulation of credit policies for various financial institutions, product and business development, enterprise risk management for various organizations.
Joseph holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance (Kenyatta University). He Holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Economics & Business Studies) and a Diploma in Psychological Counseling. He has been attending various short-term courses on Financial Management, Digital Finance and Digital Banking to keep abreast with the dynamic financial sector.
